Weight Loss Journey – How did all this Weight Gain happen?
I pull out these pictures every once in a while and think of the years that have passed and when did all this change happen? This blog is not about getting old but feeling fat and needing some weight loss. The first 2 pictures show me at my ideal weight of 120 lb. At only 5’2 when you put on 35 lbs it makes a drastic difference to how you feel about yourself.
I have tried to loose these pounds for the last 15 years. I tried everything for weight loss under the sun.
Back in 2000 I suffered a stoke. Thank God I got over it pretty much intact. The doctor was very concerned because I had high blood pressure and he’s been feeding me medication ever since. I hate taking pills. I refused to take the stuff for high cholesterol and have managed over the years to control it with natural products instead of Statins.
He said that I had to exercise, so I joined a gym and hired a personal trainer. I followed the program “The 90 Day Challenge”. I gained some muscle but no weight loss. All that belly fat was now sitting over top of some fit muscles. I was really disappointed.
I never has a weight problem all my life. Was active. Stayed in shape naturally. Everyone envied me.
Next I tried The Atkins diet. That actually worked for a while, but I couldn’t stay on that indefinitely. As soon as I touched carbs I gained all the weight back and then some.
Another disappointment. I was getting desperate, but I guess I wasn’t the only one.
I found this on a 2012 ABC News Article

My Story in Pictures
I pretty much stayed at this weight until the mid 1990’s
I had a graphic design business for a little over 12 years. Working 10 to 12 hours a day took its toll on my health.
By the time 2000 came around and I had my stroke, my weight was more than what it was at 9 months pregnant.
I weighed in at 155 lbs.
As I was saying, I tried many different strategies to get back to 120 lbs. I won’t bore you with the details. Just believe that I was committed.
Below are a couple of later pictures. That is pretty much what I look like now.
Since 2010 I’ve been spending my winters in Jamaica. In May 2015, on returning to Kelowna I weighed myself (I don’t have a scale in Jamaica) and I was in shock. I weighed 135 lbs.
The Jamaican diet, and just refusing to eat more than 1/2 a plate of food must have contributed to this weight loss. Besides that, it’s so hot in Jamaica that one sweats a lot.
I kept my weight down for most of that summer. About in August my doctor adjusted my thyroid medication, and by October my weight was back up to 155 lbs.
So, what am I doing now and what is all this leading up to?
My latest attempt to loose weight. I tried the Skinny Body Care Weight loss products for the last 3 months and have to say, that they did not work for me so I am sending back some of the product.
I had signed up my girlfriend Brenda from Kelowna and she didn’t have any weight loss either.
Then someone told her about the weight loss coffee.
In October she joined Valentus a MLM company.
She started drinking the coffee in October and has lost 6 pounds and a number of inches. Now she is able to get into some of her skinnier pants.
Her weight loss sounded very encouraging to me and she convinced me to try out Valentus Healthy Coffee.
I attended a meeting in Kelowna last night to check out the Company. I’m not new to Network marketing. In fact have been liking that form of marketing for the last 31 years.
What I saw and heard about Valentus I liked.
I need to make some extra money so that I can continue going on my trips south. Everything is going up in price and Jamaica has gotten very expensive.
I signed up this morning November 10, 2016
Brenda generously advanced me a box of the Valentus SlimROAST until my order arrives in about a week.
It’s a Delicious Healthy Weight Management Coffee. The company also has 3 other products.
After signing up I looked at the Diamonds Leaderboard on my site and couldn’t believe how many Canadians are on it. Some have never done any marketing and are doing extremely well.
One lady I talked to yesterday at the local meeting didn’t know last year where her next $$ were coming from and she is now on the Diamond Leaderboard after 6 short months.
You probably don’t know what any of this means. That’s OK.
Keep coming back to this Blogpost.
I’m doing to be keeping a record of my weekly weight loss progress.
